In Europe, most insect bites and stings are harmless. But even if you are not unfortunate to be allergic to bee or wasp venom, one thing is annoying for everyone – the itching. Here, a topical antihistamine provides relief.

When do you use Dermodrin, and what does Dermodrin do?

Dermodrin Ointment is used to treat itching, local pain and skin hypersensitivity reactions in cases of

  • Allergies
  • Insect bites and stings
  • Eczema, urticaria (hives), itching wound edges and skin abrasions
  • Slight burns, sunburn
  • Itching skin rashes after sun exposure (sun allergy)

Diphenhydramine hydrochloride, the active ingredient in Dermodrin, is an antihistamine and anti-allergic agent, an antipruritic (itching-reducing) and analgesic (pain-relieving) product for allergies and skin conditions.

1 g of ointment contains 20 mg of diphenhydramine hydrochloride

  • Children, adolescents and adults apply Dermodrin Ointment 3 to 4 times a day onto the affected area of the skin.
  • Children between 2 and 5 years, by contrast, only 2 to 3 times daily.

The antipruritic, analgesic and decongestant effect sets in shortly after application of the ointment and lasts for two to six hours.
